I read the one query that states the depth as 5.5" at the greatest depth. Another website specifies the depth as 6.5" and the instruction book doesn't seem to account for the maximum depth of the curve, as the side view measures 14.4". Can you verify?

The curved glass front is 5 in. from the wall on the sides and 6" from the wall in the middle. I just measured mine to be sure.

does this unit have a fan to force the warm air into a room

Yes. The fan blows out of the top of the unit. For this reason there needs to be a no combustable material near the top of the unit

No there is just a hi and low setting and a timer should you wish to use.  Great little unit though.

We don't recommend installing in a bathroom as the fireplace parts have not been rated for or tested in such a high moisture environment

In addition, the two heat settings can easily warm up a bedroom even on the coldest of winter nights. The good fit and finish makes this fireplace a great pick for compact size, functionality and beauty. A nice addition to any room both in style and function.
