This keypad deadbolt lock from Schlage® is an indispensable component of any home security system. It allows users to unlock the door without the need for a key thanks to its Turn Lock™ feature. Rated 5 out of 5 by steve from Works like a charm! I've had this Schlage lock for a few years now. Couldn't be easier to operate. I have had roommates, girlfriends, family, dog sitters, housekeepers, all with their own revocable codes. The one time the battery died on me, I had to resort to digging up my analog key from it's secret hiding place, and I put it in the lock and (gulp) the cylinder just spun! A half hour after messing with it I realized I had to put the key in, then push the cylinder in to engage the deadbolt. D'oh. Anyway, I love this unit. Love that it's not motorized, works even if your strike plate is a bit tight, and has a key backup. Couldn't be happier.

Rated 1 out of 5 by James from Springs always fail. I bought three of these locks when my wife and I bought our new house, and at first everything worked great. After a few months, they started spinning constantly without catching the bolt. I've gotten locked out of my house multiple times because of this. Once you finally get the lock to work, you have to take it completely apart down to the cam mechanism, and stretch the spring that pulls the plastic part to hold the pin that catches the cam to move the bolt. This will buy you maybe two weeks, before you have to do it all over again. These locks are barely worth their weight in scrap price.

I purchase two: for front door & for door from house to my attached garage. Now I will buy a third one for garage to outside. Anyone having problems needs to call their customer service: they are very patient and walk you through the steps to diagnose the problem then correct the problem. Handyman installed my front door deadbolts. He made a mistake installing the front door lock, & I had to manually key in the numbers each time I left the house. I finally called Schlage customer service & she walked me thru the steps to diagnose & correct the problem. She was very patient with me, & I am not that handy!! Now it works perfectly!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Doc832 from Excellent for the DIY person Have several of these locks in the house. They are simple to install and easy to program. Changing codes or deleting codes is no problem. Just remember to mark down the master codes and keep in safe place. The first two I have had for about 2 years and working great. The last one I just got for new french door install. Dropped right in with no modifications. Smooth operation. my only mistake was buying the combo pack because it was on the wrong shelf. did not need the entry handle since I placed a keyed entry handle in its place.

And went to go unlock my door to get into my nice warm house! And it didn’t work!!!! Very terrible product! Also terrible company! If it gets below freezing at all! Stay away from this product as you will be stranded in the cold trying to get into your own house! There are several videos out there showing how to fix the problem! But I spent a good amount of money on this lock! Why do I need to troubleshoot and fix it! When it should be able to withstand cold temperatures! It is an outside door lock for Pete sakes! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ANY OF THE COMPANIES PRODUCTS

During that time, I've had to take it off the door and essentially rebuild the inside because it stops working - the mechanism will not engage to unlock or lock the door. Probably done that 8 to 10 times. Lost a lot of confidence in the brand and product. I have a competitor's unit on another door and have used it for about the same amount of time with no problems. Given how much this cost, I was really hoping for better. The lock has completely quit again and I'm tired of messing with it. I'm buying the other brand and throwing the Schlage out, this is a safety factor for me and my family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cs1969 from Excellent Lock I've been using this lock on my home for over 10 years. The lock is exposed to the elements all year long and still works perfectly. After 10 yrs of use, it does show wear but you cannot tell which numbers are used. The buttons do not wear down nor do the numbers on them. It comes with 1 - 9 volt battery of which I may have only had to maybe change twice so far. Great dependable lock for your home. Worth the money.

I like the fact that I can manually use the key and move the dead bolt if the battery runs out. Install was relatively easy, I had to drill a bigger hole in the door but was easy, used the 2 3/8 to make the hole. Followed the directions, programmed my own numbers, easy to do. Took pictures of instructions and the program codes and will save in a safe place. Runs off a 9v battery, we will see how long it last. Using this on a rental property, no need to cut extra keys if I don’t need to. YouTube has videos to help as well. On sale.
