Canadian 2000 Multi-Fuel Biomass Stove - Red

Description

This Sedore Stoves(TM) model is designed to heat a 2000 sq. ft. space. Patented clean burning technology does not use any electrical components or fans making the Sedore Stove perfect for off-grid installations. Oversize top-loading hopper allows for extended 8-12 hour burn times. Constructed meticulously with high grade steel and cast iron, the stove is easy to use with only the air intake adjustment to control the burn rate.

  • Top loading hopper provides easy fuel loading. Integrated 1/2 cuft ash pan for dust-free cleaning even while the stove is burning
  • Can burn substandard biomass fuels (ie. wet, green, and low heat content fuels) and tolerates less than adequate chimneys
  • Burns any combination of biomass fuels including wood, wood by-products, corn husks and stalks, peanut shells, grass clippings, leaves, woodchips, hay, grasses and animal waste.
  • Patented clean burning technology does not use any electrical components or fans. Radiant heat output to the room is maximized because no insulative firebrick is used
  • Designed to heat a 2000 sq. ft. space, this model's rated heat output is up to 100,000 BTU's convectively and 50,000 BTU's of water heating capability
  • Canadian antique ruby red finish deepens in colour to plum as the stove gets hot

What is the clearance dimensions needed for installation, against walls etc? What size of pad also is needed? I tried to find a pdf file of the manuals to check but i was unsuccessful.

Asked by: Curious about installing
Thank-you for your interest in Sedore Multi-fuel Biomass Stoves. While the Sedore stove should be installed in accordance with your municipality's building code, general information about installing a Sedore stove is available in our owner's manual which can be downloaded from the TransNorth.ca website. Minimum clearances to combustibles are as follows: Front 48", Back 18", Sides 42", Flue Pipe 18". A combustible surface is anything that can burn (i.e. sheet rock, wall paper, wood, fabrics etc.). These surfaces are not limited to those that are visible and also include materials that are behind non-combustible materials. The above clearances can be reduced by the use of shields. If using a shield, ensure that the shield is installed according to the manufacturer's instructions, that the shield has been tested by an independent laboratory and carries the laboratory’s testing mark and its use is compliant with your local building and fire codes. If the floor is combustible, you must use a minimum 3/8" non-combustible floor-pad which extends beyond the stove at least 8" to the sides and rear and 18" from the front. What size of pipe

Asked by: Deerman
Thank-you for your interest in Sedore Multi-fuel Biomass Stoves. The Sedore stove accepts a 7" stove-pipe. Of course, if your existing chimney has a different size of pipe, you can use a reducer or expander to fit in accordance with your municipality's building code. If you would like more information about installing a Sedore stove, please refer to the owner's manual available for download on the TransNorth website or contact our customer service team at 519-751-2111 or [email protected]

Would I need duct work in my house to use this furnace? Also, how is the furnace powered? Thanks

Asked by: Marissa 14
Thank-you for your interest in Sedore Multi-fuel Biomass Stoves. No, similar to a wood-stove installation, the Sedore stoves do not connect with your house ductwork. However, many customers use their furnace blowers to help circulate the heat into the farther reaches of their houses. The Sedore stoves have no electric fans or air circulators which makes them ideal in the event of a power failure or in off-grid installations. If you would like more information about installing Sedore stoves, please contact our customer service team at 519-751-2111 or [email protected]
