Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong; easy to install Rather than drill holes for either nails or screws, I attached three new stockade fence's rails to my existing posts (i.e., replacing badly deteriorated fence panels) using these steel angles and, per the item's recommendation, #9 x 1-1/2 in. Strong-Drive SD hex head screws (3 rails; 3 angles on each end for a total of 6 per panel with 4 screws per angle for a total of 24 per panel). Each 6'x8' panel weighs about 80 lbs, which the angles held with no trouble (I propped the panels with wood and rope during the installation, so no angle held any weight until I removed the props and rope). FWIW, I put the longer end of the angle on the posts and the shorter end under the rails, sort of like the number '7' looking on one side of the panel, and then flipped horizontally for the other side, thus giving the angle more holding power via cantilever action. None of the angles torqued or deformed under the weight of the panels. The angles are hard to see from the distance, and make the connection between the rails and posts much more secure than using nails or screws alone.
