The Smartpond® pond and stone sealant is perfect for decorating around your waterfall and general construction on your pond. Use it to seal edges when laying down the liner and rocks so water can't escape. The sealant fills in gaps to ensure an efficient water flow over the rocks. Can the sealant be removed from rocks after it has cured?

I found that the easiest way to remove foam from rocks once it is set is to use a wire brush. Quick, easy, and roughs up the surface for the next sealer.

Does the foam dries hard or soft? can this product be used to seal the gap between asphalt driveway and foundation? To prevent water getting into the gap, or weed growing between the gap. Just wondering if this is a valid use for it?

Rated 3 out of 5 by Buddy from Works but, This stuff looks great rite out of the can and sealed the seam between two liners really well. It blended in well with the liner and around the waterfall, but after a year in place it has turned yellow where it is exposed to sunlight and a light to medium grey everywhere else. It needs to be protected from direct sunlight to stay somewhat black. Also it will not stick to anything that is even lightly damp. It does glue (dry and clean) rocks together and to the liner very well and sticks to everything I used it on, including what I got on myself. It takes a major scrubbing or hash cleaners (such as acetone) to get it off of your skin and nothing that I have found will get it out of your clothes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nancy from Easy to use Smartpond Waterfall sealant was very easy and quick to use. Had to drain and repair my 11 yr old pond. I used this product to fill gaps around the intake pipe and under rocks that form a ledge around the edges of the pond. Some of our rocks became loose and separated from the cement that glued them to the pond liner (where raccoons and kids frequented) and I needed to stabilize them, along with filling gaps here & there (approx 1"). Like the instructions say, only fill to 1/3 of the space because it definitely swells up and overflows the space - but overflowing was ok, as I wanted to made sure all gaps were covered. The following day, I trimmed all the overflow off with a plastic knife. Cuts very easy and could be trimmed to the shape of the rocks. I then painted them black and it goes unnoticed. Did what I wanted and you hardly even notice it's there.

I was able to stop those leaks with this sealant foam. It is quite unobtrusive due to the black color, and bonds with surrounding rocks to create a water tight seal. Very good - Highly recommended!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anita from Works but not on people I guess this does work pretty well with the fountain in plugin leaks but boy you never want to get it on you or your clothes or your deck or anything you don't want it on. It sticks. It does NOT come off. Wear clothes you never want to see again and have a massive supply of rubber gloves on hand. It will drip and splat and get on anything and every thing. And it won't come off. Let me say that again : IT WON'T COME OFF. Tar has nothing on this stuff for sticking power. I made a giant mistake and tried to catch some rocks that slipped with my bare hands while it was not solid yet. I spent a week apologizing to everyone I came into contact with and explaining that my hands were probably the cleanest they had ever been in my life even though they were covered in black goopy stains. Tried to get it off with soap...spread it and made or worse. Goo be gone...useless. Acetone nail polish remover...useless. Turpentine and furniture stripper got some off but not before I decided it was more important to keep my skin. Also like great stuff this expands a lot. And when you put down the can it will continue to come out and drip so never set it on anything unless you have plastic under it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Duck from Does excellent job but difficult to work with I made a small garden pond which water kept going under rocks and not on top. Waterfall Foam forced water over the rocks and did an excellent job. Foam expands and fills the cracks, works much like Great Stuff. Problems, extremely tacky and sticks to everything - be sure to ware old gloves, very difficult to get off skin. Product is black and is very visable. Be extremely carefull how and where you use it. Tube clogs up so have a sharp knife to cut off the dried tip.

Once we found this pond sealer it put an end to our troubles. And we pressed some moss into it before it dried so it isn't visible from the front of the pond. Very satisfied!
