Ecological Attributes

Stair-treads help reduce the use of de-icing abrasives that can be harmful to ecosystems. How are rubber stair mats secured

We just placed ours on our clean snow/ice free steps. They have stayed in place. I guess they’re heavy enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Oldblue from Excellent traction over treated wood stairs I have used these for 3 yrs on my treated wood stairs. I use them with the grooves side up so melt water runs away. There are times when the grooves fill with ice and I just flip 'em over and knock the ice out. There is therefore a little occasional maintenance but these are so much safer than walking on slippery deck boards. I use them on three sets of six steps and across a deck. I took a fall this November when we got our first -7 night because I didn't have them in place yet. These also work well on new decorative concrete pathways where you are not suppose to use salt and sand.

We had a winter rain which had a mild freeze to it. My neighbour left my house thinking she was safe and flew down 6 stairs landing on her back. These are dangerous. They are not meant for snow or cold weather. Returning them tomorrow.
