Rated 1 out of 5 by Avid Baker from THIS MIXER TAKES THE JOY OUT OF BAKING! I loved the red color and design of this mixer - with the added bonus of IT'S A KITCHENAID!! I had no big expectations - I just wanted a mixer that mixed like every other one I'd ever used. What a huge disappointment!!! The lack of power is horrendous! My hand actually hurts after using it because you have to "help" it mix. It seriously makes me sad when I think about having to use it - it is that bad. I would never have expected such a horrible product from a well respected brand like KitchenAid. LET THE BUYER BEWARE - THIS MIXER IS A PIECE OF JUNK! Literally, the WORST mixer EVER! It doesn't even deserve a "one star" rating.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Lulu11 from Not Impressed I purchased this about 8 months ago, and used it probably less than ten times before one of the beaters broke. The whisk ends were not even permanently attached to the insert parts. They just go into holes. I am also disappointed in its power. Much weaker than cheapie brands. I called the customer service line to see if I could get a replacement beater and got nowhere, could not even get to a person before the automated call just hung up on me. Really disgusted that not only did it break, but I couldn't even get a hold of customer service. I am NOT replacing the beaters at my expense. I would rather buy a different brand mixer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by LauraakaLulu from Not Impressed I've had this mixer about eight months. I was disappointed with the lack of power. Now about a month ago one of the beaters broke. The wire beater part is just pushed inside holes on the stem. Not soldered or permanently attached in any way. I've been able to push them back in the holes just long enough to get a quick whip on some mashed potatoes, but otherwise, my baking days are on hold. Today I called the customer service number and the automated voice told me they can't help me right now and hung up. What? Hope my KA dishwasher I'm getting this week fares better. Otherwise, I will not be ordering more from this company.

I almost returned this because I thought- oh it's going to be heavy - there's no room in my kitchen etc- I was so glad I Tried it- this mixer is light, powerful and so easy to use and clean!!! The beaters just snap in and the eject button pops them out so easily to rinse off- my cake batter and icing and glaze were the smoothest they have ever been- also I use it with the kitchen aid mixing bowls - this has actually changed my life. Tonight - mashed potatoes!!! Awesome product. Tip: to rinse off beaters just put them in a bowl of soapy water and turn on the mixer for 3 seconds!!! - Fun!!

I've owned a lot of mixers in my life and just needed a new one. Didn't have huge expectations because a mixer is a mixer. I was delighted when I used this one - it really stands apart from the rest! It is incredibly smooth, quiet and effortless! I LOVE IT!! The only thing I didn't love was the packaging. If you value the earth, you might not want to get this mixer. It comes with a hefty amount of styrofoam in the box. They could just have easily used cardboard instead. I hated throwing so much styrofoam into the trash - it will be on the earth forever more. : /

Rated 1 out of 5 by dani985 from One speed machine This was bought as a wedding present 2 years ago. I don't use it often, just whip some cupcake or frosting occasionally. I was using it last night while making frosting. I went to turn off the mixer so I could scrape down the sides of my bowl and it wouldn't turn off. I couldn't adjust the speeds either. The only way I could get it turn off was to unplug it. And the only way to turn it back on was to then plug it in, but it would be at whatever speed it stopped working at. You can also hear something rattling around in there. My husband said he would fix but there are no screws to take it apart. All of my other kitchen appliances are this pink color which is no longer available. but it makes me hesitant to buy another KitchenAid.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dissapointed from 5 speeds? More like 2 (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Bought this because the cheap one I had broke after 2 years. I use it to make cookies, muffins and cakes. Took this out of the box and washed the beaters and put it away and threw the box away. It's Kitchenaid right, that shouldn't be a problem. Wrong! Took it out 2 weeks later and it won't even cream butter and sugar. Had to let butter set out for another half hour before it would blend it. It had already been sitting out almost an hour. Hopefully the store takes it back with no box. Most mixers show you how many watts their mixers are Kitchenaid does not on this website. Now I know why. They are trying to sell these based on brand only.

Received as a Christmas gift after my 22-year old mixer died and finding out the $10 replacements are loud & clunky. I always wanted a KitchenAid! Turns out it's beautiful to look at, wonderfully weighted, smooth & quiet......but EXTREMELY underpowered. Top speed is incredibly weak and doesn't whip for squat. I've tried making whipped creams and puddings with flat & kind of watery results. For straight Mixing, it's fine, but why not just use a spoon at that point? Unfortunately, I have no proof of purchase for a return, but am looking around for a good deal on another brand.
