How do you change a dead battery?

Open the back cover and swap them out. I found the batteries were drained really quickly though. Had to change them too often!

Can the auto-lock feature be turned off?

Yes. Mine doesn’t auto lock. I vaguely remember a setting when I installed it but it definitely does not auto lock for me.

what size of hole needs to be in the door to accommodate the dead bolt key and lock device?

For proper installation you would need a 2 1/8" cross bore, 1" edge bore hole, 2 3/8" or 2 ¾” backset and door thickness of 1 3/8" to 1 3/4".

How long do the batteries last? Does it show when the battery is low?

The battery life for Weiser model # 9GED21000-00 Powerbolt would determine on usage. The average is 6 - 12 months. The low battery indicator will beep 5 times and status LED blinks red.

Is this a Z-wave , and does it work in sub zero temperature?

Weiser model # 9GED21000-002 is not a Z-wave lock. The interior for a SmartCode is not designed for exterior use and should be under cover and needs to be protected from the elements. The exterior can be installed on an outside door but not be exposed to direct weather.

Worked great at first - but noticed that for some reason, the touch screen responsiveness is getting progressively worse. Choose carefully!
