The screen will go black or freeze up which requires to climb above and unplug the microwave. The clock randomly changes the time and date incorrectly. Occasionally the microwave will not start cooking even though the timer is counting down as if it is. Again have to unplug and reboot the microwave. And now the Whirlpool app isn't working. This smart microwave is a great concept, but clearly not ready for prime time. I feel like I wasted a lot of money on a non-functional beta product.

It didn't work from the start. 3 service calls (and a new door) and it still didn't work right. They sent a replacement unit, and it has OTHER PROBLEMS. Like others have said, this is a poorly designed unit. VERY noisy exhaust fan. Almost no air suction at the intake grilles. Why so noisy, and so little air movement?? The APP and WiFi...forgot about it...seems like they'll never get it to work if they haven't by now. Please don't make the same mistake I did...far too much stress and there are other machines to choose.

Since then we have had full door replaced once and are currently waiting on second replacement. Screen freezes up, will not scroll through, wont start unless you open and shut door, clock continues to resent, sometimes screen goes black have to unplug to reset and sometimes screen goes crazy and picks things on its own as well as turns light on and off. Currently waiting for second door replacement week 3 now and can not leave it plugged in

We have had multiple failures of the door LCD screen causing the unit to be rendered usless. The LCD screen has lines. We are on our 3rd door replacement and are about to enquire about getting a check back from Whirlpool as this unit is a lemon. The app can be much better as well, while this product could be awsome in many ways, it fails on every level.

Brand new microwave & a brand new fridge by whirlpool & both have had issues so far. The microwave doesn’t heat as well & as fast as my old one. The touch pad buttons can’t be seen in the dark, don’t light up. It resets the date & time on its own & occasionally shut down on its own as well. We are anxiously awaiting our oven ordered in July. I truly hope it doesn’t come with issues as we will then have 3 bad experiences with Whirlpool. Just don’t make things like they used to. Good thing we bought extra coverage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Frustrated from Problems over and over again (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Our first unit kept shutting down. We had to plug it back in to reset it. You replaced the door, but it continued to shut down. You replaced the unit. We had to uninstall and reinstall. The new unit shuts down and start up again on its own with the wrong time and date. The repair man said this is a common problem with this model. Why are we having to repeat bad performance. You have no parts so now we are supposedly getting a new model. We so hope we won’t continue to have problems. As it is it means a reinstall, with my husband doing the work.

I called customer support and with ZERO pain, they sent me out the replacement parts. Now, let's talk about the oven itself. My entire house is automated and I am very difficult to make happy with it comes to technology. If I designed this oven myself, I could not have done better when it comes to ease of use and features. Whatever teams are responsible for its design, my hats off to you. Since I have only been using it for three months, I cannot speak to its reliability. But if this is an example of the hardware Whirlpool produces, I am going to recommend them to my friends and also seriously look at them closely for all my other future appliances.

It has the convection oven built in, which is important for us. If you want top you can put the app on your phone, scan the barcode of anything frozen, and it will send the proper cook time to the microwave! Want the best baked potato? Just scroll down the screen n the front of the microwave to the picture of the potato and press it! It will tell you to place your potatoes in the microwave and cover with a paper towel and close the door, press start. No time to set, no burnt edges, nothing! It senses the size of the potatoes and makes them perfect! Other foods are the same way! With the convection oven the temp is always perfect! Did I mention as soon as the cooking is complete, whether it's convection or microwave, it sends a message to phone to let you know the food is ready! Awesome if your grilling out and fixing something in the house as well! I cant say enough about how satisfied we are with this!
