Description

This Whirlpool undercounter wine cellar lets you store up to 51 bottles of wine and offers custom temperature selection. LED lighting gives you great visibility to find what you are looking for and the six racks have a wooden front giving your appliance a sophisticated look. This refrigerator has a black stainless steel exterior and a bar handle. It is also equipped with a door alarm and a high temperature alarm. The door is reversible to better fit your space.

Hi Jimmy Ray, thank you for your question. Our refrigerators and wine chillers are currently not rated for noise. A great feature of this wine chiller is it allows you to custom temperature selection allows you to store wine the way you prefer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by drewsky208 from Asthetically good, but overall average [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This wine fridge looks nice and is a good addition to my home. It can be quieter. It was going to be stand-alone in my place, but I'm now looking at making it a built-in to hopefully cut down on a little of the compressor chatter. I would recommend more if you are putting this under counter or if this is in divided up floorplan where there is wall isolation. I would not recommend if it is going to be standalone and/or if you have an open floor plan as you will probably not like the compressor noise: it is louder than my kitchen refrigerator and even the cheapo mini-fridge in my office.

The compressor however sounds like it is a diesel motor. Really noisy. I pulled the back off to see if there is any way of insulating or tightening up the mounts but no go. Gonna return it and see if the next one is the same way. Expected better from Whirlpool. We replaced a KitchenAid that worked like a champ for 15 years.

My only complaint is that the racks are too close together. I have many bottles of wine that are a few centimeters too large to fit on the racks. Because they are too large, the racks do not pull out correctly; I have to pull up on the upper rack and down on the lower rack so that I can extend the rack and view the bottles. And yes I have put the larger bottles in the lower section. I have too many bottles that do not fit correctly. Clearly this is a design flaw.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Joe from Should a read the reviews [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Touted as a 56 bottle wine cooler but it is impossible to put bottles in each of the spaces on each shelf (the spacing requires that every other space be used) Standard bottles will not fit in adjacent spaces positioned "neck to neck" either. There is not enough room between the shelves to put chardonnay bottles without scraping the labels on the bottom of the shelf above. The compressor noise is every bit as bad as advertised in other reviews. Noiser than our dishwasher, microwave, and Frige combined.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Very Deceiving picture I bought this product based on the look. I have dark wood cabinets and thought that this looked like the wood was dark to match. No it's not dark. It's light pine and the glass is clear, not tinted. Every website that sells this product uses this picture. See my picture before you buy so you are no deceived as well. It was too late to return it so now I have to pay to tint the glass on my own.

Unit worked well for about 15 months and then simply stopped cooling. We are now having to spend to replace it. We have owned several similar units that lasted 7 and 12 years respectively...shameful that whirlpool would settle for substandard production.

The compressor is very loud. We have had two service people come out and tell us that is just the way it works and then told by the salesperson for Whirlpool the same thing. We had a GE in our other house and it never made any noise. We are having this replaced this week with a different brand.
