As there we several to choose from, I chose this particular model and brand as the store carried the proper staples in several sizes. I already have enough tools that you can't buy parts or supplies for. The nice feature of this item amounts to the fact that it will drive staples as well as brads, so then you have to buy two tools. Upon trying it out I found it worked just fine and the angled head made driving staples for insulation a breeze. It also has a "power" adjusting wheel on the top so you dial more or less punch depending on your needs.

Rated 3 de 5 de kc par Gets jobs done, but staple holder broke [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this staple gun back in 2014, and only used it twice since. Today, when I took it out to use, I found the plastic part at the end of its staple holder broke into 3 pieces. Apparently that plastic part isn't high quality and isn't strong enough to sustain the force pushed on it from the spring. On the other hand, BOSTITCH definitely a company takes responsibility and reputation seriously. Once I found out it's broken, I immediately started an online chat with one of its representative. She inquired what's wrong with the staple gun, and then took my information to send me a replacement. No hassle at all. Great customer service.

Rated 1 de 5 de woodworker par Ineffective Staple gun Have tried to shoot staples for upholstery fabric into wood frame. No size staple would penetrate into fabric and wood far enough to work effectively. Even 3/8" staples do not penetrate fully into the wood. Have adjusted drive force, tried various staple sizes, etc. All to no avail. Also have tried differing wood varieties - won't effectively drive staples into anything but the very softest wood. Tried with treated pine and was unable to completely sink a single staple completely even with using the highest drive setting. Have tried numerous times over the past 6 months and always return to hand stapler or a hammer and heavier staple. A completely useless tool.

I used this first to put up half of an attic of 6 1/2 inch vapor barrier and noticed that right behind where the staple is fired the plastic had broke of of both sides So I took it to the store as I had to speak to the manager I asked for an exchange as I thought that it was faulty as it had only used about 3000 1/4" staples and broke, So then I used the Replacement to install some standard under carpet padding, It didn't Even make It through 100 of the same staples, The plastic base does not seem to want to stay together no matter what I am stapling. I would not Recommend this for any one.

Rated 4 de 5 de ItsMe par Great, but draws a lot of power I bought this staple gun as a replacement after i returned an all metal one that jammed regularly. I have not yet used nails with this gun but that is a great extra feature on this gun. Initially I plugged this into an extension cord to use it. The staples did not bore all their way into the wood. I read the manual to see that the gun consumes so much power that different extension cords can diminish its effectiveness. This may be because I live in an old house that has old wiring, or that the extension cord didn't have a thick enough gauge. Even when plugged into the wall it struggled, but did work for me. Overall 4 stars. I would like to upgrade to pneumatic.

Read lots of mediocre reviews of other guns jamming, etc. Bought this one on the strength of Bostich's reputation for pneumatic staple guns and haven't been disappointed. Very reliable and consistent so far - did great fully driving 3/8" staples into medium hard wood. On a smooth surface it will staple as fast as you can move the gun and pull the trigger. However, you should know that it likes to be pushed down flat on a flat surface in order for the safety to release - the nose safety is a thin metal blade that must be fully depressed, so if you're stapling on an irregular surface #e.g., stapling down hardware cloth# you need to take care to make sure the blade stays depressed to keep the safety released.

Rated 1 de 5 de bv14420 par Useless I purchased the electric BTE550Z and manual BT160HL staplers, planning to keep the one that was easiest to use. I am returning BOTH. Neither set a brad into the wood or even flush with the surface. The manual stapler did a better job, but still not acceptable. I would have to hammer and set each brad. I tested on a piece of pine, so that should have been pretty easy. In the picture, the two brads in the middle are the manual, all of the rest are the electric using all possible settings on the dial from low to high power. I expected a LOT more from Bostitch. I didn't even bother testing staples.

Rated 1 de 5 de Justin par Bostic Electric Staple gun I don't hardly ever leave bad reviews but this deserves it. It simply doesn't work good at all. I purchased this staple gun along with the recommended staples and it failed. A couple months later I bought and tried multiple other brands of staples without success. It jams every 3rd to 5th staple and it doesn't shoot them in far enough. It wouldn't even shoot a 1/4" staple thru insulation paper into a pine stud more than half way half the time. I have waisted more money in stapes than I paid for the gun. I didn't expect it to be perfect but man, this is a major disappointment.
