How often do you have to change the filter

I ran the unit continuously for about 4 weeks before the CF (change filter) message came on so I need to change the filter monthly. Also of note, we have hard water in our city so I also add humidifier water treatment with every fill up so I think this helped prolong the filter.

Does this humidifier have a filter included with machine?

Yes, "Evaporative Humidifier Wick" is already installed. Just fill the tank with water and make sure you open valve at bottom to fill and then turn it to closed before lifting it back to put on machine. Can buy replacement "wicks" at Lowes also. Excellent humidifier and second one in use in our home.

It depends on how much it runs, how hard the water is etc. I usually budget for a new filter at the beginning of each season and at least once during the winter season.

Rated 4 de 5 de ptbuzzcut par Running one day so far, so good Have had unit running one day. It really puts out a lot of moisture. Had to fill tank 4 times. Two objections I have are the design of the tank. It is not flat on top so when filling, unless you HOLD it, it will fall over. Since surgery prevents me from using both hands, it is difficult to fill, support and turn off water with one hand. It should stand on it's own for easier filling. The second item is that the valve to release water is integrated into the tank body. If it breaks, it cannot be replaced. The whole tank would have to be replaced. Other humidifiers I have had have a screw off type where just that piece would need replacement and not the whole tank

Rated 4 de 5 de ultraclassic par Nice Unit This is a good humidifer. The tank is easy to fill, just twist the top clockwise a little bit and fill it in the kitchen sink. Twist the top back counter-clockwise and insert it in the unit. You fill it up twice to fill the reservoir and the bottle. Set the humidity level you want (25-65) and it will cut off when it is reached. There is an indicator for when the tank is empty. There are 3 fan speeds. The only complaint I have with it is the cool mist cools the house, which is already cool since its Winter. I'll be returning it for a warm mist unit which I had difficulty finding when I bought this one.

We were looking for a machine that was fairly cheep and worked for our whole home. We have a 1800 sq foot house and this humidifier works great. I have had it for over a year and it is still running great....I use it year round. It is very easy to use, it is just a little loud on F3 (the highest speed) but I like it because I live on a military post where there are always planes and cars driving by so it eleminates outside noises while I sleep. I do however have a hard time finding filters for it. We go through at least one filter every other month. They are fairly cheep though! This is a great buy!!!

Rated 5 de 5 de Joe par No more dry house. Purchased the MA800, Nov 2011. I have had no problems from start to today, Jan 30,2012. Some people complained about not being able to see into the fill bottle. All it takes is 5 qts. I fill it and when I hear it getting close to the top I slow the water flow. I turn the filter over every week. This takes the top that tends to dry from the air flow and puts it back into the water. The other end is moist from being in the water (flip-flop)! The house is no longer chilly and no more dry or bloody noses. My house is 2200 sq. ft. It maintains 45-56 5 humidty at all times.. very satisfied.

We heat our 1800 square foot mostly with wood heat, so the air was a dry 23%. We now enjoy 40%-50% in the room where the woodstove is and 60% on the reading at the humidifier. The digital reading on the humidifier seems to run about 10% higher than our separate gage, even when placed near the humidifier. No problem, just set the digital readout 10% higher. Minor comment - unit will "gulp" every so often when water transfers from fill tank to pan.

I stayed with her ing the month of January and I loved having the humidity that I got this smaller model for my house. I never realized the difference it makes during the winter. I no longer get nose bleeds and my skin doesn’t dry out as quickly. The elimination of static shock is another plus to have a humidifier, In very cold weather, single digits with the heat running more, I fill it twice a day. There are 3 small buttons to control On/Off, humidity, and fan speed. At the highest speed for the fan, it is quite loud but at the low and medium speed is is quiet enough to carry on a conversation.

The only issue I have is that we used to have a huge 8 gal. water capacity model from Duracraft that is no longer available. The 8-gallon specification for this model indicates potential output per day. In order to hit that output, you'd have to refill it more than twice per day because it holds only 3.5 gallons of water. I disagree with those that say it's hard to fill. I don't have any problems filling it, though I wonder how long the spring-loaded valve will hold out (that's why I gave it an average score for design).

Rated 5 de 5 de Dan par Three Chicago winters and still running strong Bought this unit three winters ago and it still runs like new. We keep it in the bedroom (with the door closed) which keeps the room comfortable during the dry winter nights. The lowest fan speed provides a nice white noise - perfect for sleeping. However, turning it up to the highest speed is too noisy for us - but since we don't use it at that speed it's not an issue. The unit is easy to take apart and clean, the filters aren't too expensive - we replace them every three months. Refilling water can be a little awkward do to the height of the reservoir tank. We fill ours from the spout in the tub, definitely can't be filled from a shallow sink. All in all, the humidifier is a great value that has latest longer than expected.
