La tête de chalumeau en laiton Bernzomatic(MC) fonctionne plus rapidement et plus efficacement. Yes, it works well with propane and is well suited for solder applications in the pipe range you specified.

I've used a TS8000 for years. Recently I changed the tank, and when I tried to use it, the igniter would not work. It no longer "clicks" when you try to light it. Any suggestions on what is wrong, or if it can be fixed? thanks

The piezoelectric igniter has worn out. It can be replaced. Most torches use the same one even cheap dollar store lighters so you can pull one out of that.

Rated 5 de 5 de Zebedee par Perfect for removing stubborn bolts I bought this to heat up a bolt on my Explorer. It took barely a minute to get the bolt (a grade 8 swaybar bracket bolt) cherry red allowing me to remove it easily and without stripping the nut. Ignition is instant, easy controls. I especially like the ability to adjust the flame, though the position of the adjustment dial makes it a little awkward if you don't have the flame lock set first. I'll be using this in future plumbing jobs too. Excellent quality, highly recommended.

Rated 5 de 5 de ds par Great Torch - Highly recommended I was looking to upgrade my current torch (Bernzomatic 019199 Hose Torch). Purchased this self igniting torch and supplemented it with Bernzomatic WH0159 Universal Torch Extension Hose. I had used my previous hose torch with mapp gas attempting to heat up a combination wrench in order to bend it for a specific purpose. It did not work. I used the high-intensity torch and was able to heat the wrench to a cherry red and bend it. What was most surprising was that I had a propane tank attached and not a mapp tank. The swirling concentration of the torch increased the flame output in such a manner that propane fuel was enough to heat stainless steel wrench to a cherry hot temperature and able to bend it. I was very impressed and actually surprised that propane was enough to reach the temperature to accomplish the task. I highly recommend the torch along with the hose. The torch body stays cool. The tip will get hot but not as hot as I expected. Trigger ignition is wonderful, no more striker to use. Highly recommended torch.

Rated 3 de 5 de John par Great with exception It's great with one exception, the high quality head has a cheap soft plastic turn knob that turns a quality brass piece to regular gas flow, when the knob " strips" you need to find a way to use it without a knob or buy a whole new head because of one cheap part.

Rated 1 de 5 de Slickrick par Blew propane out the vent hole and caught fire Had this about a year. Out of the blue it started blowing propane out the vent hole while trying to start fire. Had to throw the tank and torch out in the yard and wait for it to burn out after a half hour. About a 18" flame pouring out. Glad i wasnt using indoors or i surely would have burned my house down. Im a plumber by trade and dont think i'll be buying anymore bernzomatic products. Online search revealed that it is a pressure regulator o-ring problem that is not warrantied.

The adjustable gas flow helps control the heat and intensity of the flame and makes it easy to get a great maillard on steaks. Unlike the other reviewer I read the product description and knew that I was purchasing only the torch head.

Rated 3 de 5 de TechnicsAU par NOT so HOT any more I have used Mapp gas for the last 30 plus years and I used to buy in bulk,50 cylinders at a time. some time ago a few cylinders started to turn up in our workshop that where bought while out on the job. several guys started to complain that the torches where no good ,so we got some new one's 3 models they didn't like using them out in the field,the heat was not there,wind ? then recently we did a production run in where we timed the heat before bending at the same heat input every time,consistency! at some point the bottle was replaced and the "new" bottle new stock was used,the thing just didn't wanted to bend the jig was damaged etc. so I did some testing on gas and torches, the old bottles we have some old stock from years gone back,dusty etc they work perfect! Further internet searches reveal that the "special" gas mix is a lot less hot,our test showed 20% less then original. Where I could braze a copper pipe out in the yard I just was able with two torches. As a result we have to go to oxy acetylene with a lot of cost for the rental of bottles . So our conclusion ,nice product for the hobbyist come softsolder jobs but no longer for the profesional or plumber,or production environment.

This gives you a lot of control on the flame strength and lights up as soon as you click the trigger. Because it works off of a click to ignite system, it also helps you save on fuel since it lights up and turns off as soon as you depress or release the trigger. Definitely worth the buy
