Caractéristiques

Rated 4 de 5 de Johnny par unlocking design I read a few reviews about this lock before I purchased it & there were a few that talked about having a problem with the unlocking of it. Yes I also had a problem with unlocking it. I thought it was the newness of the keys, but its actually the design of the locking mechanism. Its designed so you can't take the key out unless its locked. This added function also makes it hard to put the key in to unlock it. So a little WD-40 sprayed into the locking mechanism & several in&outs of the key & at the same time locking & unlocking of the lock made the key slip in&out alot easier. The lock itself is great. Hope this helps someone out.

Rated 1 de 5 de WhatsYourNickName par Key Broke Off!! I was using this lock on my storage unit. I purchased it only 1 month before the key broke off in the lock. I was a bit cold, but no obvious ice. I had gloves on, and using moderate force the key twisted and broke off in the lock. The lock was stiff to begin with, but the cold temperatures made it worse. Considering that this company can make metal that is nearly impervious to cutting...you'd think they could make a key that could withstand the maximum force of someones fingers!! The key is tiny, so the torque is minimal already. If you buy this lock, noone, not even the key master, will get to what's behind it. would give it a 4-5 if this hadn't happened. THE KEY IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS THE REST OF THE LOCK!!

Since buying this hi-security padlock and its twin hi-security hasp, my fears have greatly diminished. They're not getting through this lock & hasp with anything except maybe a .30-06 (and I definitely would hear that!). I gave everything a shot of "Blaster" (a step better than WD-40), and so have not experienced the key breakage reported by other reviewers. Only time will tell how well this lock will hold up over many years of use - I suspect it will do just fine. So far, I really like it.

Rated 1 de 5 de Barry par Weak link is the key This lock has a lot of nice features but unfortunately within 2 days of its use, the key broke off in the lock, rendering it useless, and becoming very troubling to get the lock unlocked. The broken piece did come out after some work, and then when tried, the second key started to bend when gently turned. If only the key could be made of heavy duty steel like the lock bolt itself. Very disappointing.

This style lock is much, much more difficult for would be robbers to cut. There was a break-in at my storage facility, and 8 units were robbed. All 8 were normal locks where the robbers could easily use bolt cutters to cut locks. No units were broken into that had round locks.

Rated 5 de 5 de HARRY par REPLACEMENT LOCK WITH BETTER FEATURE I HAD TO REPLACE THE PREVIOUS LOCK DUE TO THE TUMBLER ERODED AND FELL OUT, I BELIEVE DUE TO FACT THAT THE LOCK WAS EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS, THIS REPLACEMENT LOCK HAS A COVER SLIDE WHICH APPEARS WILL PROTECT THE TUMBLER, I HOPE THIS IS THE CASE, OTHERWISE THE DESIGN IS DESIGNED TO THWART BREAKINS, WHICH WORKED FIND FOR THAT PURPOSE, HOWEVER, WHEN THE LOCK BECAME WORTHLESS DUE TO THE TUMLER BREAKING APART, WELL IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CUT THE LOCK OUT. SO HOPEFULLY THIS DESIGN WILL BE A PLUS. OTHERWISE, RE: LOWES' IN GENERAL, LOVE THE STORE, THE LAYOUT, THE PLEASANT EMPLOYEES AND THEIR HELPFULNESS

Rated 5 de 5 de SeaJay par Bought 2 of these to lock the doors shut to a stogage building. This particular design offers a smaller area in which a person that wants to cut it open has access to. This means that bolt cutters have a very difficult time getting to the more vulnerable area of the lock. It also has a plastic slide that keeps trash and insects from getting to the tumblers. Very well made and heavy duty lock. Would be very difficult to break open.

Rated 5 de 5 de White-Wolf par Tough Lock This lock is real tough. I have used them outside in all sorts of weather for years. Of course, no lock is impenatrable. This one is most definately NOT an easy target. Personally and at work I am using some where around 10 and I need to replace one due to age. I think it has been around for about 12 years outside with Mult. uses per week in rain, sun, ice and what ever our Texas weather throws at it. The Weather cover over the key hole is great.
