Yes it does, ours is located on the exterior of the garage.   Drilled through siding to plug.   Also, should be as close as possible to wifi.

If the power goes out . Do you have to reset the camera with your phone ? And do you have to be in the same room .  I want to put it in my condo in Panama and I live in Toronto . Is this a good system for this type of  security?

I never have to reset camera when there is a power outage.  Love the nest.  I highly recommend subscription for $50 pa .  Worth every penny!

Internet data usage cost for one camera to use the cloud to store the recordings? Cloud fee in CDN$ for one camera? Cost for each extra camera? How many Internet (unlimited data before fine print) 150 plans would you actually need for multiple cameras?

The answer is unfortunately NO. It can only record it to the cloud and if need any notification or motion detection, the the subscription is required.

Yes however you will require an NEST Aware Account to have this feature. The Camera comes with a free 30day trial i believe and then after that you can either pay by the year or monthly. There is a 10 Day Video Review or a 30 Day Video Review option Available. Refer to the Nest website for currently rates and clarification If you choose not to add an Nest aware account you will just be able to see the Live Feed.

Subscription costs are insane. Costs far less to purchase cloud space from any other providers. Not sure why Nest thinks they can charge over 100 per year for minimal space required.

Rated 5 de 5 de DSmall par Love Nest Cam We did not want to pay for a Security System but wanted cameras in the front of our house and on the driveway at the side of our house to see when people drove in since the garage blocks our view. The NEST CAM is exactly what we wanted and needed for this situation. The video is clear and comes up quickly when you press the NEST app on our phones. We get alerts from the camera to our phones to let us know any activity from both cameras. We feel much more secure now. The value of the 2 cameras was a much better fit for our budget than a security system and it completely fills the need. I would, and have, recommend them to anyone.

Install was very easy, no hassle - no fuss with anything, just figure out where you want to put it, decide how you will plug it in, connect it and Wha la! Done. You get 1 month of free cloud storage then you can decide if you want the 10 day storage or 30 day storage plan with Nest Aware. 10 day is quite suitable for most people. It uses a lot of broadband if you set it for the highest resolution video quality but I found it works just fine at the lower end settings. Turn it up if you go on vacation when nothing else is using your router service if you want crystal clear video. I love it and would recommend it to all who are wanting a quality home security cam.

He has skills in this area, so super simple for him to install. I appreciate having the activity zones set up to alert me to something happening in these zones while I'm away. The cameras are helpful to alert me when my teenagers come home after school (because they often forget to text me that they are home :-)). Also it alerts me when service company representatives come to do work at my home, packages are delivered, or when the occasional solicitor stops by. It's really cool to see what happens when I'm away.

I drilled a 7/8" hole trough where the siding meets the soffit (while the cable attached to the camera itself is quite thin, then end has a male USB type-A connector with a cylindrical plastic around it which adds significant girth. Some reviews of this camera in Canada have been negative, mainly because some people were complaining about the camera only working on the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band in Canada. I looked at the specs on the Nest website and, yes, the European and Canadian version of this camera only operate on the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band. I believe this may be due to Canadian regulations. Regardless of the reason, I believe this makes sense as lower frequencies move better through solid objects, i.e., the walls that will be between your wireless router in your house and your camera outside - just ensure that you have a wireless router close to your camera (as I do) and you'll be find. I am running one Next Can Indoor and two Nest Cam Outdoor. My only complaint is not with the camera, rather with the software. When I first installed the camera and loaded it in the Nest app, a banner appears at the top of the videos that says "you are using a 30-day trial of Nest Aware" (the paid subscription service to save your video in the cloud on Nest's servers. Once I paid for a subscription, the banner persists and tells me that I "have subscribed to Nest Aware" and proceeds to count down how many are left in my trial. It is super annoying and covers up some of the video at the top. When I click the little "x" to dismiss it, it comes back every 20 seconds or so - or as soon as I rotate the screen.

Let me tell you first off I’m not a technology person but this camera was bought, installed, and working within 2 hours of me buying it! You won’t regret anything buying this cam! It’s a nice clear picture with a wide angle. The microphone works great, just ask my dogs who keep getting yelled at for digging holes. They are not a fan of the cam! The alerts I receive on my phone is an added bonus! You can also easily share the camera with others in your home with minimal steps. Stop searching for the perfect cam because this is it!
