I was a little disappointed upon receiving it to learn that it would not adhere to my home's brick exterior as I planned. This is noted on the back of the package but may be overlooked by someone purchasing it. Upon reading the instructions, I was also concerned to learn that the surface to be used must first be cleaned with rubbing alcohol. Since we painted our front door two weeks ago, I researched and learned rubbing alcohol may loosen the paint there so that use is out for me too. It is good to use in the garage though to hang my umbrella.

I put it on my siding to hang a sign which didn't weigh near 5lbs. and it hung well all day into the night. About midnight I hear this crash noise outside and I find my sign on the porch & the hook about 5 feet away. Besides being scared hearing the crash; I was certainly disappointed this product did not stand up. I followed the instructions but I am thinking it was warmer during the day (78) and the temp went down (57) at night which cause it to fail; it hung fine for about 12 hours. I have another one I hung on an interior door and that one is fine; no problems.Will be calling Command during their business hours.

This is a wonderful idea, especially for someone like me, who has an exterior metal and/ or glass door. I have wanted to hang wreaths on my door, but never could because there was no simple. non damaging to the door way to do it. Easy to apply, as I have no carpentry skills. I can now hang a wreath and make the door beautiful. It has a 5 lb weight limit, so everything I want to hang will be within that range. I am so happy now that I can decorate my door.

I've tested this hook over the last 5-6 weeks and it's held up great. It's a hot and humid summer and I was worried about the removable adhesive strip and the fresh paint. Just to check, I removed the original piece of adhesive and there was absolutely no damage to the door! I replaced it with a new strip, hung up the hook, and a wreath on my door. I love the aged bronze hook that matches my handle and deadbolt. I would definitely recommend!

I’m especially fond of command products. This time it was an outdoor hook. I was anxious to put the hook to use, but I live in the northeast part of the country and as I write this we are in the middle of our fourth nor’easter storm for the month of March. Today while I was taking my shower, the suction cup hook I hang my pouf on fell off the tiled wall once again. Then I had an idea! I tossed the suction cup and put up my Metallic Bronze Hook on my tiled wall. Yes it’s not outdoors but the bath mimics our summmers with rain and humidity. Best part of all-no holes in the tile wall. I’m happy!

I followed easy directions, and centered it on my door, which is metal, but not magnetic. I have never been able to hang anything on that door until now. This door faces the east and it's been bitter cold this winter. Not only did my Christmas wreath stay securely on the door, which was opened and closed a gazillion times throughout the holidays, but my hook is now holding my Valentine decoration!

I needed something that would hold a sizable wreath on the front door without making holes in the door for nails. Over the door hangers have not worked as they are difficult to close the door and not adjustable in where the hook lies on the door. This hook solved those problems nicely. It is nice looking and although plastic, it looks like a bronze fixture. It was very easy to install. The hook comes out far enough to attach and securely hold the wreath. The adhesive is strong enough to withstand the weight of the wreath and shows no signs of giving way. This seems so far like a great product for my needs.

I have a few different Command Hooks from 3M around my home- this one is great for outdoor use - or between doors as well, to hang Wreaths for example. It is very attractive, though it is plastic - it doesn't appear to be. I love Command hooks. I've never had one fail- and they are easy to remove if necessary- to paint or reapply somewhere else, if removed correctly they don't even leave a mark. Excellent product!
