Conditionneur pour bois est évalué 4.6 de 5 de 104.
Rated 4 de 5 de par Used on soft pine with good results My first experience with this product, which I understand if basically a water thin varnish. Made a coffee table from pine pallet wood with great results. I first tested it on some scrap wood, and, just has the product literature says, found that the pre stain conditioner gave a more even stain effect. The part of the scrap without it had both very dark spots, and other spots that were almost white! Just make sure you give it time to dry before starting to stain your project, also the thickness and/or number of coats will have a big impact on how your project accepts stain. I look forward to playing with this again on a future project!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Actually does the job I've used a number of methods to reduce uneven stain penetration over the years - sanding sealer, diluted varnish wash, etc. I'd read that the Minwax wood conditioner worked well, so I gave it a shot on some unfinished pine furniture I wanted to stain with a medium gray. Application was simple - just brushed on lightly. (instructions say one can use a rag as well), and there was a two hour (I think) window in which to apply the stain. I was impressed - the stain penetrated almost like bare wood, but it indeed was much less uneven. Most other techniques I've used, the stain barely penetrates and I basically layered the stain on top. So I'm a believer. This stuff actually works. After staining, the finish applied normally.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Lightens Stain too much Minwax Pre-Stain does what it proclaims. It does provide better definition for softer woods, and it does work well to protect cut ends from being a dark mess. You can see from my picture it does enhance definition and minimize blotches. However, when you put the stain on after the pre-stain (I did after 30 minutes in picture) the stain is so light it's unappealing. I used Minwax stains English Chestnut, and Red Oak (and Cherry and Gun Stock not pictured) trying to find a color I could accept. I never did. I ended up using Varathane Light Walnut Stain without pre-stain. It did have a few blotches, but otherwise, I was very pleased with the results on light pine wood. I did use the pre-stain on the ends of the wood, and that did work well.

Rated 4 de 5 de par I used an ample amount and let cure 1-2 days Before using, I read a lot of articles about applying it per directions versus letting it sit and cure overnight+. I decided to go the overnight+ route. I was using it on fresh pine. I applied a decent amount and the wood soaked up the conditioner immediately and there was really none to wipe off. After 1 day, the Minwax (oil-based) stain, went on pretty evenly, some areas were still just a little bit blotchy. Some wood I let cure for 2 days, and I noticed that it went on even more evenly with no blotching that I could see. Also, I realized that one piece of wood where I neglected to really get a good amount of the conditioner on, came out very blotchy (after 1 day)! So, with my experience: make sure to use an ample amount whether you need to wipe off or not depends on the type of wood/it's existing age and condition; letting it cure overnight seemed to work well and letting it cure longer seemed to work even better. And please make sure you use in a VERY ventilated area and wear a mask, the smell is so incredibly strong.... to me, like 5x worse that Minwax stain!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Works as advertised Used to keep stain absorbing evenly. Used on oak bare wood to stain golden oak - had tried stain on a scrap piece of wood showing uneven stain absorption. Worked as advertised to even final look. Oil base so not easy to clean up in cold weather.

Rated 5 de 5 de par A must have for any woodworker For anyone who has ever done any kind of woodworking to were they had to strip the wood down to bare, this is a must have for you. It keeps you from getting a blotchy finish you sometimes get when bare wood soaks up polyurethane , varnish or shellac differently on one side of a board than another. The pre-stain creates a barrier to allow even coloration of your stain and even penetration of your finish material. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 de 5 de par A Pine Preparation Must We sanded our floors to reveal raw pine. Then we used Minwax Wood Stain Pre-Conditioner. We then did 3 coats of Jacobean to get a dark rich, color which was followed by a coat of Minwax Semi-Gloss Oil-Based polyurethane. It took about 24 hours for each coat to dry. We had never done this before. We watched some YouTube videos for appropriate techniques, and it went really smoothly. I wouldn't trade our floors for any laminate on the market!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Perfect predating yreatment This product does a wonderful job of preparing the wood to accept a coat of stain. I’ve used it many times and always get a very even coat of Stan after applying this product. This only adds 10 minutes to the staining process. Apply this, wait 10 minutes and wipe off, then apply stain. Be sure to apply stain within 2 hours of applying this per instructions. I’ve never waited that long as I precise and them stain right away instead of working with lots of wood at once. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
