[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Most/all electronic products have the tab or spring which puts pressure on the batteries on the negative side with a dimple that the positive side falls into. This stud finder put the tabs on the same side of the battery box so that one battery has it against the negative and the other against the positive. The battery with the tab against the positive is pushed up. I figured the cover would function to hold it in place, but it does not. The stud finder works as long as it is not held vertically. You know... Like you typically would up against a wall.

Tried multiple batteries to make sure that wasn’t the issue. To their credit Lowe’s offered to let me bring it back for store credit

Rated 1 de 5 de Phil par Complete Junk Reports AC literally everywhere. Walls I know have none. Cabinets. The side of a book shelf. Cant reliably find a stud, will give you different position readings with every pass you miraculously get without the AC alarm going off. I have no idea how this ever made it to store shelves. It is by far, without a doubt, the absolute worst stud finder I have ever used.

Rated 5 de 5 de The Awesome Husband par Wonderful Features [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to try this out. This exceeded my expectations by far. It worked great right out of the box. I’ve been upgrading my garage so i used this to check for metal and wood studs. Came with a full set of instructions that helped in sorting through the features. It works pretty well for locating nails in vertical wood studs. It was even easy to read while standing on a ladder and using it overhead trying to find ceiling studs. And the AC detention worked PERFECTLY! I was able to pull off a neat and clean project that my wife totally approved of. I’m winning with this tool!

That means mine has the plaster and slats between the studs. Using this stud finder, made it easy to see where the stud was and also the electric line. It uses two AA batteries and is easy to load. the power button is pressed while you slide the handheld unit along the wall. When you go over a electric wire a light on the sensor will light up, and it plays a beep. When it goes over a stud it sounds a different beep. It is comfortable in my hands. I like this stud finder and plan to use it many more times
