Vous pouvez personnaliser le panneau de cette machine à glaçons de 15 pouces Kitchen-Aid et ainsi l'agencer à vos armoires de cuisine. Elle utilise la technologie Clear Ice pour créer des glaçons afin de préparer de magnifiques cocktails tout en les gardant frais plus longtemps sans pour autant les diluer. Elle peut contenir 25 lb de glaçons pour vous en assurer une quantité généreuse à portée de main. La porte réversible vous procure plusieurs options d'installation, tandis que la fonction Max Ice produit des glaçons 56 % plus rapidement que le mode régulier. Cette machine haut de gamme est couverte par une garantie limitée de 5 ans.

We had a uline icemaker and it completely stopped working after 3 weeks. This icemaker is so much nicer even though the cost was about the same. Plus, I could not get service for the uline at all where I live. It is more attractive and seems to have features that actually work! The door seals well when you shut it, the ice is uniform and the bin stays full, there is no odd smell from the unit, the sounds are muted very well, the appearance is attractive, the handle is easy to use and I feel confident in its performance because it is a Kitchenaid after all.

While we were out of town on vacation, the unit failed completely. Got back home, no ice, no power, nothing - dead as a doornail. Would not reset. Currently working with Kitchenaid on repair or replacement. Service tech said there have been sporadic problems with drain pump failing. Since power to the icemaking unit is sourced from drain pump, if drain pump shuts down for whatever reason, the icemaker and refrigeration no longer works. Will adjust rating if Kitchenaid comes through on remedying the problem.

The issue is there is something dripping inside and it is putting out possibly too much heat. We can feel the heat through the quartz countertop. The real issue is kitchenaid customer service is not very informative and not very good overall! It's like pulling teeth to get answers and information from them about the device or about getting it serviced. The ice coming out so far has been good which helps balance the lack of quality customer service. A repairman is coming this week and he already told me he has to replace a couple of parts.

Unfortunately with this unit I started having issues within the first 45 days. First the unit would randomly shut down. It appears that it was not draining and therefore shutdown. Then the machine starting working for a while but starting making a high pitch whining noises that I can hear from the opposite side of the house. Very frustrating. I would prefer to just have the unit replaced but I don't think that will be on option since I have now had the unit for a few months.

The ice machine for the first 4 months worked great. Produced a lot of ice and made very little noise. Now the last couple of months it began to make loud noises that it didn’t make before and it’s not producing the same amount of ice like it did. Sometimes it’s so loud I could hear it in my bedroom. I placed a mineral water cleanser to see if that would help, but it did not. Now it makes loud noises at different intervals of the ice production cycle. I wish it could go back to how it ran when I first got the unit.

We told the architect to put it in the plans. We absolutely love it!! No more buying ice bags at the store as my wife hates refrigerator ice. We never run out of ice and can accommodate large parties without running out. My wife's mother said that over the past 30 years she has had other brands, but nothing has worked better than her KitchenAid. Thanks KitchenAid.

This ice machine produce little ice squares that are about 3/4” by 1/2” thick and clear. The ice lasts a long time in a yeti and melts slowly since there are no air pockets (hence “clear”). If you use ice in soft drinks, it doesn’t foam up like regular ice when you pour the soft drink over the ice and the ice melts slower so it does not dilute the taste as fast. We bought this because we moved to a new home that did not have a stand-alone ice maker (we have an ice maker in the freezer but we got spoiled having had this type of ice maker). As I understand it, KitchenAid manufactures this “clear ice” technology ice maker for all the appliance brands but we have never had the KitchenAid version (previously had GE Monogram and Kenmore versions). This specific model appears to be more robust than the previous versions we have owned. The door mechanism is more solid than a simple hinge and the interior looks better engineered. This one has it’s own water filter (a big advantage). I hope it has good reliability. For those who have not owned a standalone ice machine, let me explain a few things you may not know. It is definitely an indulgence and it is different than the ice maker built in to your freezer. First, the storage box for the ice is not refrigerated, meaning the ice is constantly melting (that is why it requires a drain) and constantly making new ice. Second, it’s noisy, essentially water pumping inside a box. Not to loud but you can certainly hear it. This is why the ice stays fresh and doesn’t taste stale. Third, it needs to be cleaned using the ice maker cleaner per manufacture recommendation (I am hoping the filter lengthens the cleaning interval). Fourth is that the pump will wear out eventually and it will need to be repaired. The parts are expensive and here is when you have to do the math to determine whether to fix it with just a 90 repair warranty or buy a new one with full manufacturer warranty. I will spare you my rant about planned obsolescence. I don’t think any of these points are different than any standalone ice maker but the reason we chose this is because of the ice shape and clarity; I.e.the quality of the ice. As I said earlier, this is an indulgence. In summary, very pleased with this version of the ice maker and hoping it has good reliability.

The first time I cleaned it, I could not find information on how to turn it off. Called the help number and no one could help. There is a magnet in the middle of the panel that must be pressed to open the plastic shield. This is a different feature from our past models. Be aware that once you have a stand alone ice maker, you will be spoiled and not want any other huge ice cubes.
