Is there some way or attachment to instal this time deck / hard floor? As in, are the other alternatives than the peg on the ground? Would like to install this on the deck but our deck is 6 feet off the ground.

We attached them to our deck posts. We screwd a short piece of pt 2x4 at the bottom of the post and then attached the unit to the front of the 2x4's with conduit clips. The 2x4 gives you just enough room for the head to clear the post. Then we ran the wiring under the deck. We absolutely love the Nutone Haven system!

I purchased this product last year and I am extremely pleased with it.I installed refills at the start of this season and all was well until after maybe 12 to 18 hours of use we noticed that the green light on the controller is flashing. Is there a fix

From what I understand you need to change the repellent cartridge when light flashes

Do you need to take the product down over the winter?

That's a good question. I may have to contact the manufacturer for that one. My guess is it's no different than outdoor lights that tend to weaken and crack/break from extreme cold. Most certainly the fluid container would have to be removed.

Considering buying to use as a portable unit outside the travel trailer under the awning. Question is the wire solid or stranded? Solid wouldn't take the coiling after each use to pack up unit. Stranded should be fine. Thanks.

The wire is stranded, and it would work great around the trailer. We use ours around the fire pit at the lake and love it.

What is the repellent that is used in system? And how effective is the product , how often do you need to spray . How long will a canister last ?

The product operates with a 4% metofluthrin concentration, which is the active ingredient used to repel mosquitoes. The product has been tested under extreme conditions in Thailand, and proven 92.5% effective at keepping biting mosquitoes away. The system is made of fixtures incorporating a vaporizer that releases an odorless, invisible repellent that protects a 440 sq.ft. area. The repellent refills lasts up to 216 hours. Simply turn off the system when protection is not needed.

Each repellent refill lasts up to 216 hours. We assume a season as 90 days/average use 2.4 hours per day. It can remain Inside the fixture until the next summer season. The repellent refills are sold by a pack of 4 units, at a suggested retail price of $99.99

We have a deck at our cottage which is 4 feet above the ground. Would your device eliminate mosquitoes if we install the lamps on the ground or would we have to secure them to the deck itself. Thanks.

At 4 feet the fixtures will still provide coverage. However, since the sphere of coverage is only 6 feet in any direction (12 feet diameter), placing them in the ground would not be optimal.

I told her that I couldn't see anything like that working, but I was wrong (for once). We always had to head inside after the sun went down but now we have our deck back again. It was so simple to install. The instructions that came with it had blank pages but I was able to download from Lowe's site. We have a deck 20'x20' so I installed all around. In one location I couldn't put in the ground so I used a large flower pot packed with soil. I know it seems expensive but to sit outside and enjoy the summer, it's well worth it. We've had friends around and the y are all impressed too. They are now thinking of buying.

Checked the fuse, the wiring etc all good. Controller box malfunctioned. Called the service line, sent in the requested receipt and paperwork and a week goes by without hearing anything. Call back and am told they're busy and don't have enough staff to handle all the issues. Meanwhile, this is prime mosquito season and we don't want to wait until the snow flies!! Very unhappy with the response given on the phone and online. We just need a new controller but that seems too much to ask even though the product has a three year warranty and we've only had it less than a month.

Rated 5 de 5 de Cottager2018 par GREAT FOR THE COTTAGE I purchased the Haven System to install at our cottage. We are in a sheltered bay with little wind, so mosquitos are an issue all season. I installed the system and expander kit to cover 550 sq feet of an L shaped front/side porch. Installing the unit was simple. The instructions walk you through everything to ensure a correct install on the first go. The wire connectors make it safe and easy to get power to each diffuser and LED indicator lights tell you that each diffuser is powered up. Over all installation took 1 hr to setup and test this system and 20 minutes to bury the wire. I was probably bitten by mosquitoes 5 times while installing the unit so I was excited to fire it up! After about 15 minutes of the system running there was a noticeable difference on the deck. Usually you’d need to cover yourself in big spray to sit comfortably outside, but with the Haven turned on, it was bug free! The best part is that there is no smell at all. You only really get a max of 4 months to use the cottage each year, and it’s a shame if you can’t enjoy it with out being attacked by bugs. NuTone’s Haven has taken back our deck for us and has aloud us to make the most of the little time we have to spend outside at the cottage! If you spend anytime at a cottage or outdoors in the summer you NEED this product, it’s game changer!

Normally I pick up a few bites in the evening even using repellent as their is a pond near our home. I fell asleep one early evening after installing this and did not get even one bite. It works pretty well. The liquid lasted the entire season and had a little left over. In peak mosquito season we saw the odd one or two over the deck but they seemed disorientated and were easy to chase away. Otherwise it's great for us. I bought an additional head to put near the BBQ which has saved my ankles being bitten. Bought replacement fluid on sale at the end of the season as it's pretty expensive....but not more than I would have spent on repellent over the same time.

I did some online research and found this product. Not cheap, but I figured, give it a shot. And I did. The installation around my deck took perhaps an hour. That same evening I sat out back, and in an hour I had just ONE industriously brave mosquito bite me. (It died for its efforts.) This system actually does work as advertised. I would recommend it highly—and have done to several friends.

A raised deck means that the stations cannot be at ground level. Reviews that state this product doesn’t work likely means that the stations are not installed at the correct level. My system works great! Purchasing a second unit for home patio.

It took hubby about 2 hours to install and only 15 minutes to make the mosquitoes disappear! We're sold! We are finally able to enjoy meals outside again! Two dinner parties later and several guests are now considering purchasing the units as well.
