[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Despite looking like some kind of hunting knife, the Hori Hori GardenTool is an excellent addition to your gardening equipment. It has a measuring scale on the outside of the blade that allows the user to get the right depth for planting The edges can be used for both sawing and cutting of small branches or of flowers. The blade metal is finished to resist corrosion or rusting, the blade guard above the handle will prevent sliding even with wet hands, and the plastic handle is robust enough together with a smaller area to fit smaller hands. The unit comes with a scabbard and can be worn on your belt or carried in a tool box or bag.

This is so much better than a shovel. It cuts through dirt much easier. The prongs also help digging out weeds and roots so much faster and easier! I was actually having fun digging up weeds for once. The serrated edge helps to cut through stems easier and is better than lugging around different tools. The blade part is good for skimming things off like thorns or bark. Definitely get this for yourself or a gardener friend. You'll love it!

It makes it easier when just checking on the garden. I can take one tool and if I need to weed a little or harvest or cut something back this one tool does it. If I am planning on spending more time, I would bring other tools. For example, finding a few pesky weeds, the knife. If more than that, a hoe is easier on my back. For harvesting, the knife is great. Just need something to carry the produce. It has a holster that drains.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to admit, even after reading the glowing reviews that convinced me to give this thing a shot in the first place, I wasn't fully convinced I would personally find it very useful. Now that I've had the chance to take it out into the garden with me and put it to work, however, I can join the chorus in singing it's praises. If you garden or spend any amount of time digging for any other reason (treasure hunting... body burying... whatever...) even if you don't think you'd have any use for such a thing, chances are you'll end up pleasantly surprised and impressed by what it can do. If this looks like a tool you think MIGHT serve you well, it definitely WILL!

It is a heavy tool with a thick grip. The weight and quality make this tool stand out against the plethora of cheaply made gardening tools out there. The large blade has one serrated edge and prongs at the top, and a ruler in the middle that measures in both inches and centimeters. It also comes with a thick plastic sheath that attaches to your belt. I am so excited to use this in my large garden!

Its versatility helps complete some big jobs in my garden. I have a huge problem with dandelions, thistles, and volunteer trees. The Hori Hori let's me take care of all these things at once without having to switch up or buy more tools. I am able to easily cut through the volunteer tree and pluck out all the weeds. I love the protective plastic case it comes in and that it has a clip to attach it to a belt or your pants. I use the serrated side of the blade a lot to chop stuff down. It's very sharp. The forked pint is very handy for prying up weeds. It's also curved slightly so you could dig with it if you needed to, like to dig a little hold to plant a bulb in. I would recommend to any gardener or just for usual yard work.

For planting, there is a measuring tool on it to see how deep to plant. There are two sides for cutting; one is serrated and the other is a regular cut. It really works great when trying to cut those stubborn roots that need to go. It has a forked tip that helps me dig up weeds. It comes with a plastic cover for protection. This will definitely be my new go-to tool for my gardening needs.
