Would it be advantageous to silicone together these at the over laps for additional waterproofing? Would this backfire?

Posée par: Ron Piggott
Hi Ron, thank you for choosing Ondura for your project! While it is not necessary to seal the overlaps together, it won't backfire or hurt the panels. The overlap of the corrugation and the 7" headlap in conjunction with the epdm washered screws make this system watertight. I'm consider putting these on a shed that is 200 square feet. Can the panels be walked on while being installed?

Posée par: Ron Piggott
Hello, thank you for your interest in ONDURA. When walking on fastened-down ONDURA sheets, walk on top of purlins only placing feet across corrugations. Also wear soft-soled shoes. ONDURA is more pliable in hot weather and less pliable in cold weather. Always use care when walking on ONDURA or any other roof. For project specific information or more details please contact our customer service department at 1-540-898-7000 opt.2 M-F 8a-5pm EST.

How far apart should the nails be spaced?

Posée par: Ron Piggott
Hello Ron, thank you for your interest in Ondura panels. Ondura should be fastened at every corrugation on the ridge & eave. The panels should be fastened every 24" throughout the field. Including overlaps, each panel will have 4 rows of fasteners, approximately 25 fasteners per panel. For project specific information or more details please contact our customer service department at 1-540-898-7000 opt.2 M-F 8a-5pm EST.

hi there can i install with the ridges running horizontally on a replacement frame for a gazebo ...the pitch is at least 30 degrees and the reason i want them to running horizontal as its an easier install for me and i am not that handy plus its cheaper--

Posée par: theaus
Hello, thank you for your interest in Ondura. We would like a few more details on your project to be able to best determine if this is a proper installation for the panels. We want to ensure the panels will have the proper support and drainage in the installation. For project specific information or more details please contact our customer service department at 1-540-898-7000 opt.2 M-F 8a-5pm EST.

Is this material fire resistant? What is the weight bearing capacity, if installed on a flat gazebo roof?

Posée par: Marauder 69
Hello Marauder 697071, thank you for your interest in Ondura panels. Ondura panels cannot be installed to a flat roof. Ondura panels must be installed on a minimum pitch of 2" per every 12" and in areas that experience snow/ ice this pitch must be at least 3" for every 12". For project specific information or more details please contact our customer service department at 1-540-898-7000 opt.2 M-F 8a-5pm EST.

Would you cut them for us

Posée par: Mike MC
I don't believe Lowes will cut them, but you can call the nearest store and ask. My husband transported them in our SUV (they're quite flexible) and then he used a hand saw to cut them to size as they were a bit larger than what we needed. They do leave an oily tar like film on the saw blade so you want to cut one panel, clean the saw and then repeat with the others you need to cut. If this product is way too large measurement wise, you can always purchase the package of roofing tiles (different brand name, but same product).

Panneau ondulé est évalué 3.9 de 5 de 74.
Rated 5 de 5 de par Easy to Install We intalled these panels over our pergola on the weekend. We carefully measured 2x4x13' beams with the proper marks (48", the 44"...), ensured the center beam was where the overlapped sheets would be, and the sheets went up easily. My only advise is make sure to hit the beams (we didn't use a chalk line but should have), make sure the beams are square (ours were), and don't forget NOT to nail where the overlaps will be (happened a couple of times), because removing the ringed nails is extremely difficult once they're in the wood. I love my new roof and can sit outside in the rain now!

Rated 4 de 5 de par Good For Some Applications I bought two of these pannels to top off a little lean-to type thing we constructed to house yard equipment we did not want to store indoors. It is thick, yet easy to cut and or drill screws through. It does loose its shape if it is not laid flat during storage (before use). We had to wait a day for this to correct itself...not a problem, just a note as I had stored it standing up for days prior to installation. It was not as ridgid as I had thought it would be (ordered online), but a few support beams and it works well. I really like that is looks so much nicer than the metal counterparts, and that it is easy to work with. It is also very economical, and that is always good! I am considering using this product again to make another roost roof for my hens.

Rated 3 de 5 de par CAREFUL WITH THE INSTALLATION The reason I gave it 3 stars is because it is fragile while being nailed into place with the specified nails. I watched the installation video and I saw a truck run over it without damage. Whoa, I thought, that's what I need. But......IF YOU STEP ON IT ESPECIALLY THE RIDGE WITH WALKING SHOES, ( I was wearing Rockport Walking shoes ), YOU WILL SQUISH THE RIDGES. I WAS TAKEN ABACK WHEN I SAW THAT. I went and got a large pillow and knee pads and crawled over the Ondura sheets as I nailed them down. That worked. But how come the truck did not damage them.? Also, if you do misfire on a nail, it does usually gouge a hole or tear in the ridge which then you must repair. On a positive note, it's fairly light and It doesn't cut your hands when you handle it.

Rated 5 de 5 de par I bought some of these many years ago to use as tops over my tree stands, I wanted something that was quiet and not too heavy., They have held up very well. I have had large limbs fall on them and the angle iron frame was bent before they tore, I simply patched the crack and reinstalled, I have dropped the tops from 20 ft and they survived the fall. I like the color , it works well in the outdoors, I may use it on my Duck blinds in the future. I wish I could buy some with out the ribs,

Rated 1 de 5 de par Save your money buy regular shingles or metal I just bought the Ondura sheets to cover the roof for my new shed at the recommendation of a Lowes employee. They said it was very durable and easy to install. Spent $363.99 on the material alone on 3-12-17. Installation was very easy. Tuesday the following week we had a small hail storm. Size hail was maybe half inch. Now I have over 20 holes in the Ondura sheets. Not very durable. Now I get to replace my entire roof again, IN LESS THAN A WEEK. I'm going back to shingles or metal roofing.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Outstanding Product I reviewed many products and chose this product over conventional shingles. They install faster, less weight to move, they cut easy. I installed it over my exsisting conventional shingle roof. When friends come by they comment that it looks and appears to be metal, but its not. It has gone thru hail, endured -10 to 110 degrees, and high winds. I dont have any thing bad to say except why dont they use this product more on homes... Regards Bob

Rated 4 de 5 de par This is great stuff for certain jobs. Pros: For what it does it is quite good. The only other thing you need to put over the rafters are some 2x4's at right angles from the rafters. No plywood or osb sheeting. vNo felt paper or shingle material. This stuff is thicker than shingle and so it is tougher than shingles in some ways. For instance the corigated surface provides regidity while also sealing the overlaping joint with adjacent sheets. It has no little pebles lik regular sheeting so its smoothness makes it easier to clean off leaves and twigs with a blower or broom. Cons: It's resistence to puncture is poor. If a mounting nail hits a knot or another nail in the 2x4 the mounting nail can easily twist or bend and make a small hole that needs to be sealed via a roofing sealant. If you need to get on it after or during instalation have at least two small 4" x 4' or bigger to kneel on. otherwise the corigated material will probably crush and fracture.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Product!!! I used this product to cover my back padio. I supported under it with 2x2 foot holes and it workes great. I have had it for over a year and no leaks what so ever. the product was easy to put up and looks good as new. Would recomend this to anyone adding an exterior structure to there home.
