Hello, The loss calculation is not done this way. To heat a 300 square foot room 8 feet high with good wall insulation. You need a minimum of 2500W.

can this be used with a non-programmable thermostat? I have 2 convection baseboard heaters controlled by 1 non programmable thermostat now and one of the convection heater does not work.

Yes, this model can be controlled with a non programmable thermostat. Please make sure the capacity of the thermostat can handle the power of both units combined if the SPR unit is more powerfull than the defective unit.

Is there a built in thermostat on the heater?

The Prima (SPR) baseboard does not come with an integrated thermostat. However, the integrated thermostat SIBTE12C can be purchased and installed in the baseboard by your electrician.

Rated 4 de 5 de pogobill par Great looking unit Bought this unit to to warm up the kitchen and it looks great and has a slim profile. Works fine, although it does warm up the dry wall quite a bit. No scorching as with the competitor, and it does warm the room quite nicely. Install according to the instructions.

Rated 5 de 5 de Griffin par Very quiet efficiency heater Have purchased 3 different ones for a updating renovation job, 1500watt wall thermostat , 1000watt wall thermostat & 500watt w/built in thermostat kit. I have tried other brands/types but they were a waste. These are all I recommend. Extremely Easy install for the most part, the built in thermostat kit for the 500 watt does add time getting it going of course but the time required is reasonable and again not very difficult.

The only downside is the integrated thermostat that was recommended to us works oddly; it doesn't display the current or set temperature.. there's a button to set it to 20 and then a + and - to adjust from there. Not a problem, just odd. Besides that, very happy with it.
