Rated 5 de 5 de haroldj par Great sander for the money After wearing out the cheaper brand sold in the store in just a couple of weeks and having to return it, I'm glad so far (2 days) I moved up to this Metabo. It flat-out is 10 times better. It removes material much faster; the bag catches 90% of the dust, and the belt doesn't wander nowhere near as much. What was taking me days now takes me a few hours. If you have a deck to refinish, don't waste your money on that cheaper red one with the name that used to mean something. Spend a little extra on this one and you won't be sorry.

Rated 5 de 5 de Zach par Outstanding Sander [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had a old 4th-generation Craftsman sander handed down to me by the father-in-law. It was the best sander had ever used and I was distraught when the motor on it broke and burst into flames. My cousin recommended this sander and I accepted that it wouldn't work as well as the old-school made-to-last Craftsman but was hoping it would be adequate. Well... this thing left the Craftsman in the dust. I was getting jobs done 2 to 3 times faster, I was inexplicably using about a quarter as many belts, and it caught way more dust. My last fence project took me a couple days as opposed to a week. To say I'm happy with this little gem would be an understatement. Easily the best I've used.

Rated 3 de 5 de kenny par Yes with guidance I just purchased this sander today because of past experience with Metabo. This is not the quality of Metabo in the past. I'm sure the overall quality is OK but this sander has some real shortcomings. The positive points are very good dust collection and not to loud. The negative is, 1( it is VERY overbalanced on the left side and difficult to keep even distributed weight on the belt, 2( The rollers are to wide for the 3" belt, 3( difficult to keep the the belt running straight on the rollers. I am very disappointed with this sander and will be returning it ASAP.

Rated 5 de 5 de John par A great belt sander I always hooked the wet/dry vacuum up to my Ryobi belt sander. This one sucks the dust up like its hooked to a vac. It is quieter than my Ryobi was and seems to be more aggressive removing paint.

I was a bit nervous using a belt sander on the desk I was making for my son. But after about five minutes I had it fingered out. The belt adjustment is so easy, belt travel is nonexistent after a tweak or two. Should have bought this a while back!!

For one thing the dust bag worked once and thats it but the good thing about the duster was that you never had to change the bag. Everything else was pretty much a struggle, I mean it was able to survive half the project but couldn't make the final stretch so I regret buying this and regret not purchasing the two year plan since its just past year 1 since purchased. It's hard to find good products these days but this is such a piece of junk that I think I'll be staying away from lowes all together. Thats a real review from a real person, I question the authenticity of the others.

I was sanding oak veneer plywood that was very dry and hard from years in the garage (I live in the desert) and my Orbital and Mouse sanders were not going to be up to the task, so I purchased this one after reading all the reviews. I'm a DIY'r, but am always doing something and take great pride in my work. This sander has an excellent feel of quality, ran flawlessly, finished the job at least a day ahead of time. Metabo has an excellent reputation for better quality tools and I'll definitely consider Metabo when buying new or replacing my existing tools. Very impressed; highly recommend! 5 Stars for me all day long.

This not so impressive tool isn't particularly good at any one thing, mediocre at best over all important areas. It bogs down and tracks all over when beared down upon, the on board dust blower shoots dust everywhere whether plugged into high end extractors or left with the bag on and is incredibly difficult to fit to any size hoses, the cord is incredibly short, and the bottom pad doesn't provide a flat surface to reference. The Porter Cable is a step up in my opinion but if you want something that performs look into the Makita.
