This year the snow blower wont start. I put some fuel stabilizer in at the end of last winter. I added gas this year and it wont start. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Posée par: Leo123
Ok, this may sound dumb and I am not meaning to offend, but I want to make sure i cover everything in this answer. Do you get anything when you attempt to start it? Does it start, chug and bit and die? if nothing, maybe you turned off the gas line at the end of last season and forgot to turn it back on. There is a little red turn dial, make sure it is set to open. Maybe you turned off the key last season and forgot to turn it back on? When I start mine, i put the choke all the way on, prime it 2-3 times and it starts on the 1st pull usually. I empty the gas at the end of the season and I turn the gas closed each time I use it and let the line and carb drain and then the blower shuts down on its own. Then when i go to use it again, I turn the gas open, choke on, prime 2-3 times and starts on first pull. If you get something, but it chugs and dies, sounds like the carb is gummed up (dirty) usually to bad gas. You can get a new carb, or try taking it apart and cleaning it. Lots of vids on youtube on how to do both. Maybe not specific to thus unit, but most carbs are the same. Hope this helps! I have had mine for 2 years, going into 3rd year and no issues thus far. Good Luck!

Where can I purchase a replacement auger belt? Why sell snowblowers that you don't provide parts for?

Posée par: kdizzle
Get the belt dimensions from the manual, or take the belt off, and head to any auto-parts store, and they'll be able to find an automotive belt with same dimensions. Piston Ring is GREAT for this. Or, go to literally ANY small-engine repair shops, and they will be able to look it up for you and order one in. Easy fix either way.

What are the dimensions of the box including weight?

Posée par: cairn 999
The box is very big and heavy (110kg). You will need 2 very strong people to move it around. It won’t fit in a car, SUV needed or maybe bigger minivan with all the seats folded.

My current problem is that small rocks the size of a pea jam the secondary auger. There looks to be a small hole pre-drilled on the bottom of the housing, which I assume is to eliminate this problem. Is it ok to drill the hole bigger?

Posée par: WayneK2
I also have experienced the pea gravel used on roads getting caught in the secondary auger, and had to clear the auger using the bar supplied. I ended turning the snowblower onto the front cover to clear the gravel, as the drain hole was too small. Drilling it slightly larger sounds like a great solution to allow the gravel to drop out. I thought the hole was to drain water out from melted snow.

When starting 2 stage B and S snow blower there is an intermittent alarm that sounds.  It is not in the manual, what is it telling me?

Posée par: Pop up
It could be a low oil alarm. Maybe check your oil level.

what type of oil does the md1024 snow blower use? (briggs and stratton)

Posée par: fast eddy
Briggs and Stratton recommendations: Synthetic SAE 5W-30- Best protection at all temperatures as well as improved starting with less oil consumption.

Souffleuse à neige, 2 phases, 208 CC, 24", gris noble est évalué 3.5 de 5 de 148.
Rated 1 de 5 de par Bad snow blower I would not recommend these snow blowers to anyone. I bought this model last year to replace my 15 year old snowblower that work flawlessly. At the outset, this blower gave me a hard time last year as it’s shear pin kept breaking every time I used the blower. Now this year, another problem surfaced - the lever to changes forward speeds and bring the machine in reverse has jammed and does not move. Last year, I called the customer service in USA, they were nice to talk to but did not offer any meaningful help. Essentially, I am stuck with a bad piece of machine which has costed my lot of money and is not reliable.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Problem getting warranty service! The 3rd time I used the snowblower I found the wire up to the headlight was disconnected from the plug. (see photo). I found an authorized repair centre about 20 kilometers away. They told me the only way to get a warranty part was that their repair center must install the part. That ment that I would have to rent a vechile to take the blower back back for the repair and pick it up after the repair was done. They also said they would not get the part until the blower showed up. I estimated my cost to get the blower there and back is weill over $75.00 just to have a $10.00 part installed under warranty. I am at the point of returning the blower and getting a refund.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Buyer beware I purchased this product because of the name, I think this may of been a huge mistake. I use this snow blower on a small driveway and maybe used it 3hrs. First the check ball in the grease nipple for the auger had fallen out, then fuel started to leak from the fuel shut off valve and now the metal "s" attachment for the shoot adjuster has broken off. I have owned this snow blower for 5 months and its not that easy to just lift it up and put in the back of my vehicle and bring it to a repair facility.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Unreliable on Second Use I bought this on a door crasher deal about a month ago, finally got it delivered by a friend to my small town last week, used it for the second time today and the cable directing the chute angle seized on me. While gently playing with it trying to loosen the cable, the solder snapped at the control. Now I'm 350 km away from the closest Lowe's in the dead of winter with a useless snowblower.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Please do not buy it Bought this product 3-4 months ago (late November or early December 2017) and used it only 3-4 times. problems: 1- does not clean the snow as other snow blowers do. still leave at least 1-2 cm snow on the driveway. 2- any thick snow, you have to push it 3-4 times to get the snow out. 3- use 3-4 times probably this 2017-2018 season and today noticed that one of its blade/ agar is not engaging with the gear and not cleaning the snow. What is the benefit of such product. If there was an option of 0, I would have chosen 0. If you have extra money that you don't need, please donate it to some charity, at least you will get some reward.... don't waste your money... because in the end you will get nothing out of it other than frustration.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Great machine year one Great engine that starts on the first pull every time (my wife uses the electric start). At the end of the second season the auger belt was slipping effectively reducing the snow moving ability of the machine to zero. I over adjusted (and now broke) the auger cable. When the parts arrive, I expect that the machine will be as good as new. The parts are fairly expensive at over $50 each for the belt and the cable. The earlier review suggesting an early service to make sure pullys are working properly is highly recommended. Glad to have bought the machine on sale

Rated 5 de 5 de par Very nice! Living in Vancouver BC the snow here comes in large loads and is often very heavy and wet. After having the last several years of shoveling 3 - 5 times per day to try and stay ahead of this we decided it was time for a snowblower. Did some research and found that a 2 stage was what was needed ( has metal impeller and auger vs the single stage has rubber). We finally have had two good dumps of snow ( 10 - 14 inches each time) Had to adjust the traction control slightly but this machine handled it very well. Just take time and let it perform. Starts with one pull every time. Throws the snow a good distance when needed.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Works really well I bought this blower to replace a Honda which gave me almost 40 years of service. I was quite impressed on how easily the new blower started. The electric start is really unnecessary as the manual pull start works so well as long as you remember to turn the gas tap on, which I forgot to do the first time. The snow blower handles really well because it is nicely balanced and it cleans right down to the walks, just like my Honda did. The controls are well laid out and easy to use. All in all I am very pleased with this machine. I don't expect it to last as long as my Honda did but who knows? It may. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
