How well does this snow blower work? I am in the market for a new one and am looking at this one and the Ego one.

I cancelled my Order because we get a great deal of snow in this region, and if the machine could not handle the snowfalls, exchange was prohibited by the vendor after any use of the machine.

Is this a self propelled? Front and back?

Self propelled ? - Yes it is. It has a 500 Watt brushless motor to provide forward/reverse movement to the two drive wheels. I do not know what you mean by 'front and back' ?

Une bête !J'ai acheté cette souffleuse ce matin. Elle est venue à bout d'un pied et demi de neige lourde et collante sans problème. J'ai même pu faire le banc de neige de 3 pieds que la déneigeuse municipale à laissé devant... Une vraie bête ! Il restait assez d'énergie dans les batteries pour faire les trottoirs sur le coté et derrière la maison.
L'installation est simple et rapide et l'utilisation est facile. La souffleuse n'est pas très lourde, donc facile de la déplacer même sans activer le moteur des roues.
Si votre entrée est immense (2 autos chez moi), où si vous avez beaucoup de trottoir à déneiger, probablement qu'un 2e kit de batteries serait utile.
Seul hic, le petit support qui sert à tenir le bâton de curage de goulotte a brisé la première fois que j'ai retiré le bâton... Mais bon...

Good fast but no brakesIt is fast and takes some time to get use to better control it. Especially stopping with no brakes so less precise and needs to master the timing. Make sure the battery is pushed in and locked for the machine to work.

Works well although came with defectsI purchased this snowblower last year. The product works well and was able to handle the snowfall we received in Montreal. The snowblower I received was unfortunately defective in that only one of the two battery sockets can be used. The snowblower can run on one battery but this required me to change the battery in the middle of clearing my driveway, and using the complete charge of the first battery, which will negatively affect the life span of the batteries.

Great 2 Stage Alternative to GasOverall I'm quite happy with the snowblower and I'm super happy with the fact that I no longer smell like gas after doing the driveway. The batteries last more than long enough to do my driveway, which was my concern prior to purchase.
The only complaint is the way the drive lever gets locked when you engage both the auger and drive. So when you're going through a deep patch of snow, you may need to pause the forward drive, so the auger can catchup. So you need to disengage both the auger and drive, which is a bit strange. It is also hard to change the direction of the snow chute when both levers are locked. If they rethink this locking of the drive lever, I think it would solve my only complaint. There was a issue with the snow scrapper holder breaking, which they could solve by using a metal holder instead of a plastic one. Otherwise, I think they have a very solid 2 stage snowblower.

Works Amazingly WellI don't like gas equipment, and when I saw this 2-stage electric I decided to try it out. It is quiet to operate and throws snow very well; comparable to similar-sized gas units. Snow is easily thrown 10-15 m. I've only had a chance to use it twice; both of 5-7 cm snowfalls. My driveway is 50 m long and 5 m wide and there was 25% charge left in the batteries. The one disappointment was when I went to grab the chute clean-out tool that's mounted in the mounting clip for the first time, the plastic clips snapped off (see image); it wasn't as if I forcefully grabbed the tool off. The clip can still (barely) hold the tool, but it should have been designed as a metal clip, not plastic. For use on pavement, make sure to raise the skid shoes as high as they can go. The shoes are set a little lower from the factory. When you insert the battery packs, make sure they are properly seated in the battery compartment. Slide the packs down until they click and lock into position. If not, vibration will wiggly a pack away from a battery terminal and the blower will obviously cut-out. For nighttime use, the LED lights are great but would be so much better if mounted higher and or wider apart. As is, the lights shine directly into the chute which then cast a long shadow in front of you.

I want the ION100v model nowI got my dad 40v model after he passed last August - was a John Deer gal fumes and all - a sheer pin broke on the gas sucker and deciced to use his battery model-did not have high expectations - well with all the work done, i now am looking at the larger model - will save the smaller one for the back yard and the big one for the front - i am definitely sold on Sno-Joe

Fantastic machine…blew my expectationsBought this guy in 2021 early winter. Allot of buddies with gas ones told me it wouldn’t hold up anything big and would be a disappointment. Well luckily I had a friend who owned one and said so long as you buy a 2 stage electric, you will be fine and it will do the job. So glad I did. I got this on sale for $699 at Lowe’s Canada a year ago and so happy I did. I can’t believe the price it is now.
Just finished doing a round of a full 4 car driveway with this 25cm storm we got in Niagara Falls and it did the job with still some battery left. Slow and steady but it gets done. No gas. No starting engine issues, no spark plug problems. No smell. Quiet. Just battery in and go. Best winter tool. Even has usb plugs in the battery incase you need to charge electronics incase of a power outage. Brilliant.
Only one negative, the holder for the chute cleaner broke off easily. Not a big issue as I keep the chute cleaner on the side in my garage.
Fantastic machine.

Powerful, easy to useBought this on clearance, and couldn't be happier with the purchase. Astoundingly all text I can read say it comes only with one battery but it comes with 2 5ah batteries. A pretty substantial bonus as they're pricy by themselves.
