Will this product withstand Central Ont. winter weather conditions and not peel off.

Posée par: Spitz3
Oil based stains soak into the wood so they don't peel off. Reapply yearly or as needed. Just make sure to clean old wood with a wood cleaner product and rinse with garden hose then let dry. No need for pressure washers or sanding. New wood should be free of dust and weathered a year if pressure treated.

Can this stain be applied over an existing but tired Behr deck stain that is applied to pressure treated wood?

Posée par: Salal
Yes. I used Cabot Gold Sunlit Walnut over 4-5 Yr old Beher that had flaked and failed badly. Sanded top rails & scraped bottom frames but did no prep on panel boards and it soaks in providing a beautiful rich finish. I did 40 panels

Is this product; Cabot Wood-Toned Deck and Siding Stain (19200 Natural) by Cabot in stock at the Pickering Ont. location?

Posée par: PaulGu

How long does it last and what is required for preparing surface cleaning. I have old stain left behind but have got 90 percent off. Have stained with other protection in past and am not happy with new formula that have changed too.

Posée par: Latch

I plan to stain my deck first time in 3 yrs since it was built, love the look of the pressure treated cedar so never stained..but now after 3 yrs its tim to stain it...would love the cedar look again, in a stain do you have this..not wanting a paint

Posée par: Katnjay

Can I leave oil based Wood/Siding stain at our cottage over the winter? Temps can reach -20-25 Fahrenheit .

Teinture d'extérieur pour terrasses et parements Cabot, transparent, cèdre, 3,78 l est évalué 3.9 de 5 de 22.
Rated 5 de 5 de par Can't beat Cabot 3000 on treated-pine decking I used the "other" product that is heavily advertised and that has been around for years- water based - it is history in months. Cabot 3000 has lasted two full winters/summers of hot NC sun and wind borne salt moisture (300 feet from the salt water) and only now can use a re-do. I've read the complaints and they clearly did not follow their lumber provider's recommendation (and any carpenter or stain manufacturer): ALL lumber/plywood is saturated with moisture and must be left un-stained for minimum of 3 months - preferably 6 depending on month of installation and weather. And, I DO spray it to get coverage in between the planks - works fine.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, to me! I have applied the 19200 series for two years running, and here we are at the start of year 3 and my deck has failed for the 3rd time. Last year, I power washed, cleaned with deck wash, power washed as a rinse and allowed to fully dry for 3 days prior to applying the stain. Looked beautiful when I was finished!! But, beware the beauty vanished after one season. Peeling, flaking, fading. All the horizontal surfaces failed. Perhaps Cabots sales and marketing department is supported by repeat buyers. We'll, I'm off the hamster wheel. Caveat emptor!

Rated 5 de 5 de par pretty good and nice looking product I used it , last year, in a just built cedar deck/pergola, and it looked amazing after applying and still today. Pergola and railings look as new today, I'll apply a second coat to the floor, since it has wear out a bit. in traffic areas I'll recommend a second coat, but as someone else mentioned, it is important to evenly apply it, not to overlap, the color difference will be noted. in overall, it give a nice color to the wood while showing all the wood patterns. A year and a winter after, and still beads water nicely.

Rated 1 de 5 de par 3000 Series: Peeling after one season Applied this product to a new cedar deck last season, and now less than 8 months later, its peeling. Prep included light pressure washing, and was allowed to dry for about one week prior to applying with stain pad.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Beautiful results but just doesn't last at all. I had my rooftop deck replaced in 2018 and was determined to protect it with oil wood. Purchased Cabot Australian Timber Oil and applied two coats. Absolutely stunning. In spring of 2019 I noticed the deck was looking spotty and the wood was absorbing water after a rainfall (not much water beading). I figured because it was a completely new deck the wood just needed to absorb more. Applied to more coats of the same Timber Oil (spring 2019). Spring 2020 and again the deck looks like it was treated 4 or 5 years ago. I was willing to pay more for the Cabot brand thinking it was worth the investment but that doesn't seem to be so. Will be researching and applying a diffrent brand in the next few weeks.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Log Cabin and deck look great years later I bought the Honey Teak in the Australian Timber Oil and it penetrated well into the logs. It is now 3 years later and it still looks fabulous. We did the brown treat deck as well in the same product. It has been 1.5 years and again it looks fabulous! The clean up with an oil is more difficult but it is with any oil based product. Buying Cabot in a solid for my home deck today and have no fears it will be the right product.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Loved the 3000 series! To keep my deck looking its best, I stain it every year, and have used Cabot 3000 series for many years. I found it 100% satisfactory in its ease of application, appearance, and durability. I am VERY sad that Cabot developed a new series which includes different colors AND much less coverage per gallon. But I will try the new series next year; thank goodness my hardware store still had some of last year's stain way in the back of the shelf.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Complaints I have seen a couple people stating the product peeled when they applied it to their brand new deck (this website and a couple others).. When you have a new deck built, you are supposed to let the wood weather 6-12 months before applying any kind product. Just a word of advice.
