Change the temp with the temp up or down and press “hold” on the left.  It will stay at that temp until you press”run” and it will resume with your programmes settings

I have mine programmed at 5* with no issues. I know that if you hit 0* it shows “LO” and will not turn on.  Using a gas furnace in the garage.

What does a 5-2 day mean in reference to a thermostat?

5-2 refers to how you can customize the schedule for your furnace/air conditioning. You set one schedule for 5 days (Mon-Fri) and another schedule for the weekend (2 days). A 5-1-1 would allow you to program a different schedule for saturday and sunday.

I bought this thermostat six weeks ago and it has been nothing but a "headache". within the the few weeks of owning it, I replaced the batteries 3 times. On one occasion the new batteries died within a couple .of days and I came home to an icy cold house in the middle of winter. I am very disappointed as Honeywell is supposed to sell quality products. This unit worked fine for about a month but after that every time I replaced the 2 AAA batteries they would be dead shortly after that. It was a lot of aggravation not only running out to the store to buy batteries, but also to return it.

Trying to connect the “R” wire was nearly impossible, the screw was way too tight and no matter how hard or what tool I tried I could not get it to loosen. I contacted the 1-800# and waited 56minutes before reaching an operator. The operator explained a few things and agreed sometimes accessing the “R” wire was difficult and suggested I return it for another one and open the new one in the store to see if screw was better - as if the store would be ok with that. I purchased a new one, and the cover was so stiff when it finally opened the circuit board and glass part came apart as well. I returned that one too and got another one and the same thing happened. I tried, but after 3 attempts I was so frustrated, purchased a thermostat from another company and it was installed within minutes without issues. This absolutely needs to be made more user friendly, it’s so impractical
