We ended up with a tire that would not hold air. Based on the recommended psi, all the tires were over-inflated to 30 psi instead of 8 and 10 psi. When we took it to the warranty shop (not Lowe's) they informed us that we were the second customer with this flat tire. The first customer, said a tag was stapled to the tire and when removed that caused the leak. We did not remove anything so the left rear tire on our rider was a 'lemon', I guess. A very nice feature is the short radius turn. We bought it when Lowe's had 'no tax' otherwise, we would have bought it from whichever retailer had the best price.

Transmission failed with less than 3 hours!
In the spring of 2016, I purchased the XT1. While it looks good and rides nice the transmission failed during it's first attempt at mowing. My mistake was not buying the "replacement" warranty (who knew?), as Lowe's does not provide repair services. What I did have however, was Cub Cadet's warranty. So I brought it to a Cub Cadet dealership (where I should have bought it) and they investigated. Turns out they've seen a great many of these fail due to poor assembly line production. A rear seal was missing and the hydrostatic fluid slowly leaked out as soon as it left the factory until it arrived at my house. There was just enough fluid to run a couple hours then the first signs of noise appeared and at that point it also failed.
Repair cost $1800. Out of pocket $200. Inconvenient delay was all summer waiting for a complete transmission from Cub Cadet. Since I still needed my grass mowed that summer I bought a used Sears Craftsman which works great.
Anyone interested in a 2016 Cub Cadet with only 3 hours on it? LOL

Purchased this machine back in early May. It is absolutely wonderful. Turning radius, ease of operation, comfort, quality, are just a few of the pros. A design flaw would have to be the throttle cable lever does get in the way sometimes when getting on/off the machine. The fact you have to start it on full throttle (choke) when the engine is cold would be a con. Other than that it is absolutely perfect.

Great little yard tractor
We have had it just over a month and have cut the lawn 6 times ( half acre ) and still on the first tank of gas. Hydro-static drive works good. Cuts great, tight turning. Only issue is the noise it makes, no louder than any other but could use a redesign on the exhaust and muffler and no instructions on how to check the transmission oil.

Great tractor but......
As required, I did my first oil change at 5hrs. Normally this would take less than 30 minutes. It took me at least 15 minutes to get the oil filter off. Oil filters are supposed to be hand-tightened only.
I used a strap wrench, a pipe wrench and even punched a screwdriver through the filter in an attempt to turn it...(and bent the screwdriver).
I finally got it with the pipe wrench and lots of cursing, in English and French.
Also, the rear tires had 25psi in them, the max should be 10 psi....the fronts had almost 30psi...max =14psi. No wonder it rode hard.

Cuts grass.... cheap
I bought this lawnmower 2 months ago from a local cub cadet dealer. Dealer told me it was a twin.... find out it’s a single cylinder, okay my fault for not checking in the store. Brought it home cut grass with it a few times. For about 1.5 hours each time. Third time, battery is dead.... okay I charge the battery everything is fine.
Fourth time, go in the garage to a puddle of oil under the machine, the oil drain thing on the side of the is LOOSE. Not the yellow cap, the actual metal piece attached to the engine. Tightened with a crescent wrench, dripping appears to have stopped. Good way to cause CATASTROPHIC engine failure to a 3000 dollar lawnmower and have the dealer tell me it’s because I ran it without oil.
After about 4 uses I reached the 5 hour mark and decided to do my break in oil change, drain the oil out of the stupid plug on the side of the engine, the cap rips right off. Oil everywhere... After my frustration I get the oil drained and go to the other side to remove the oil filter. It doesn’t budge with a regular oil filter wrench. So I have to get a pair of huge water pump pliers and pry the factory filter off, finally breaks free. Not sure what cub cadet was thinking when they install these filters at the factor. Must tell their employees to torque to 1500 ft/lbs to prevent any possible oil leaks.
Overall not happy with the machine. Sure it cuts grass but it’s junk. It’s a shame I spent nearly 3000 after tax on it. I’m kind of looking forward to the day it dies to get a better lawnmower. But hey, at least it has LED headlights.

Concerned Motor making stange noises
I bought this last year and right away I noticed strange noises coming from motor; I also noticed what looked like cracks under engine block. Took pictures, I brought the tractor to local dealer under warranty and they said nothing's wrong. I changed oil , filter and sparkplug, same results. I am very worried about the motor
